Help us to better understand wildfire risk so that we can propose better practices and policies to mitigate the impacts of fire on our homes

Dear Sir/Madam

Within the House Refuge project, ADAI (University of Coimbra) is carrying out a study on the reduction of fire risk at the wildland-urban interface. One component of this study is the characterization of the buildings exposed to rural fires in Portugal. To be able to carry out this characterization with a national scope, we have prepared a form for a participatory survey, which we now share.

Thus, if you have a house that is located in a fire prone area, we would appreciate your collaboration in filling in the form at: https://arcg.is/1X9Tee0

You may provide more than one answer, if you have the information requested for more than one construction – even if you have only part of the information requested. We also appreciate if you share this link to your contacts, since the more answers we have, the more reliable is the statistical analysis we intend to perform.

For reasons of respect for privacy, we do not ask for the specific location of the house, so your rights are implicitly safeguarded.
We thank you for your time, in the certainty that your contribution will be very useful to us and to Portugal. We hope that this study will enable the definition of better practices and better policies aiming to reducing the fire risk in our houses.

On behalf of CEIF/ADAI and the House Refuge Consortium, I send you my best regards,

Miguel Almeida
